NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion University wrestling team will be sending wrestlers to compete in the Cleveland State Open on Saturday, Dec. 15 in Cleveland, Ohio.

This is the eighth consecutive year that Cleveland State University has hosted this tournament. Competition is set to begin at 9 a.m. in the Woodling Gymnasium. The CSU Open is a double-elimination style tournament that will wrestle to sixth place. NCAA rules will be followed.

The last time the No. 25 Old Dominion wrestling team was on the mat was on Dec. 2, when the Monarchs had six guys place at the Nittany Lion Open in State College, Pa. In ODU’s past two dual matches, the Monarchs beat No. 25 Wisconsin as well as Iowa State in Ames, Iowa.

ODU currently has six wrestlers nationally ranked within their respective weight classes: Jerome Robinson (125), Scott Festejo (133), Justin LaValle (141), John Nicholson (157), Billy Curling (174) and Matt Tourdot (HWT).

The next dual for the Monarchs will take place on Friday, Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. at the Ted Constant Convocation Center when American University comes to town.
