Tenth season

A veteran coach within the Lady Monarch program, Allison Greene is entering her tenth season on the staff.

At Old Dominion, Greene will share the responsibilities with Schweiter as the recruiting coordinator. Both assistants will share the primary responsibility of organizing all on and off-campus recruiting efforts for the Lady Monarchs. She will also work with head coach Wendy Larry on team scheduling.

Greene's on-court duties include assisting with the development of post players and sharing the responsibility for the scouting of opponents.

A 1990 graduate of Dartmouth College, Greene's mark in Hanover, New Hampshire is still heavily embedded in the Dartmouth record books. An All-Ivy League selection during her last two seasons, Greene was a member of four Ivy League championship teams and played 103 career games. In addition, she ranks among the leaders in career statistics for scoring, rebounding, and assists.

A two-sport athlete, Greene was recruited out of high school for both basketball and track and field. She participated in both at Dartmouth, advancing to the Eastern Championships in the discus during her last two years with the Big Green.

Following graduation, Greene played professional basketball with the Portuguese National League in Amadora, Portugal for one year. One of the nation's premier recruiters of foreign student-athletes, she has served as a speaker and demonstrator both nationally and internationally at various camps and clinics. Most recently, Greene presented a table talk on the subject of international recruiting at the last two Women's Final Four Tournaments.

Greene graduated from Dartmouth with a bachelor's degree in philosophy and has worked extensively in linguistics. She has studied Russian, Latin, Chinese, Spanish, French, and Portuguese and is a fluent speaker of the latter two. Desiring an eventual career in diplomatic service, she has, in the recent past, worked at the North American headquarters of NATO which is located in Norfolk.

Greene earned her Master's degree in International Studies in May of 1997 and is currently writing her doctoral dissertation in the same field.

An enthusiastic public speaker, Greene has recently taken part in several forums, including the 25th Anniversary of Women's Athletics in the Ivy League and both the 1999 and 2000 Women's Final Fours. In addition to extensively working with the Lady Monarch basketball camps for girls, Greene also serves as a clinician for several other camps.

A native of New Jersey, Greene currently resides in Norfolk.
