EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) -Lauren Aitch had 14 points and eight rebounds off the bench to help No. 24 Michigan State pull away from No. 23 Old Dominion 74-48 on Wednesday night.

Mia Johnson had 13 points, all in the first half, and Kalisha Keane added 10, all after halftime, as the Spartans moved to 6-0 for just the third time in school history.

Freshman Courtney Schiffauer added 10 points for Michigan State, which trailed 27-26 with 1:44 left in the first half.

The Spartans scored the last seven points before the break, then raced to take a 31-point lead with 6:10 left in the game.

The Lady Monarchs (3-2) were led by Tiffany Green's (Chesapeake, Va.) 11 points.

Old Dominion, which led a majority of the first half, held as much as a seven-point edge in the opening stanza. A pair of free throws by senior Jen Nuzzo (Newport News, Va.) gave the Lady Monarchs an 18-11 lead with 8:53 left in the half. From there however, Michigan State would close out the half outscoring Old Dominion, 22-9. The Lady Monarchs trailed 33-27 at the half.

In the second half, the Spartans managed to outscore the Lady Monarchs, 41-21, and held Old Dominion to only one field goal in the opening nine and a half minutes.

The Lady Monarchs will return to action on Sunday, November 30th against crosstown rival Norfolk State. Tip-off is 2:00 p.m.
