NORFOLK, VA. (Jan. 14)(AP) -- Hamchetou Maiga scored 25 points and Lucienne Berthieu added 22 points and 14 rebounds Friday night as No. 22 Old Dominion raced to a 25-5 lead in the first 10 minutes and coasted to a 108-67 victory against Richmond.

Old Dominion (10-3, 3-0 Colonial Athletic Association) won its 86th consecutive game against CAA competition. The Lady Monarchs have lost just once to a CAA team in their last 136 conference games, an 87-80 setback against James Madison during the 1994-94 season.

Richmond (6-8, 1-2) got a 3-pointer from Kim Hairston 3:32 into the game, after Old Dominion had taken an 11-0 lead, and a layup by Tasha Swaby 1:17 later that made it 13-5.

The Spiders didn't score again until Cammy Desmond's 3-pointer 9:42 before halftime.

By then, Berthieu had nine points, Maiga seven and the Lady Monarchs led by 20.

O'Keisha Howard added 14 points and Sharron Francis had 11 for the Lady Monarchs, who shot 57.9 percent to Richmond's 38.2 percent and outrebounded the Spiders 53-32.

Ebony Tanner had 12 points and Lizz Greene 10 for Richmond.
