Don't ask Jackie Cook to sum her four eventful years as an Old Dominion basketball player - she's not even sure how the end came so quickly.

"I can't believe it's already here," the senior guard said. "I remember my freshman year like it was yesterday."

During that freshman year, the 6-foot guard from Hinckley, Ohio, averaged 4.8 points per game under then-coach Wendy Larry. Her sophomore year ended with Larry's departure. Then came an 11-21 season under Karen Barefoot.

Today's regular-season finale at Northeastern will cap off a career that includes more than 1,000 career points.

Cook, as always, expects to end on a high note.

"I can see that she really, really wants it," Barefoot said. "Last year, I didn't see that."

Entering her senior season, Cook realized this was her last chance to make a mark on the program. It was self-issued challenge: Work harder, lead the team and make an impact.
