NORFOLK, Va. - The NCAA Women's basketball tournament was announced and Notre Dame is the No. 1 seed in the Norfolk Regional.

The regional semifinals will be held Sunday, March 31 at the Ted Constant Center with the games at noon and 2:30 p.m. The regional final will be held Tuesday, April 2 at 7 p.m.

The No. 2 overall Fighting Irish are 31-1 and won the BIG EAST Regular-Season and Tournament championship. Notre Dame takes on No. 16 seed Tennessee-Martin in the first round.

The No. 2 seed in the region is ACC Regular-Season and Tournament Champion, Duke. The Blue Devils are 29-2 and face MEAC Champion, Hampton in the first round.

Texas A&M, the 2011 National Champions are the No. 3 seed. The Aggies are 24-9 on the year and face No. 14 seed Wichita State in the first round.

Rounding out the top-4 seeds in the region is South Carolina. The Gamecocks are coached by former three-time Kodak All-American at Virginia, Dawn Staley. USC is 24-9 and takes on No. 13 seed South Dakota State in the first round.

Also in the region are Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Miami (Fla.), Iowa, DePaul, Tennessee-Chattanooga and Kansas.
