Brandao Earns Spot on Portugal National Team

NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University women's basketball's Michelle Brandao made the final roster for the Portugal National Team. Brandao and the national team will participate in the FIBA (Federation of International Basketball Association) Europe EuroBasket Qualifications starting in July. The team will play eight between. Ukraine, Belarus, Hungary and Israel. Portugal will start at Ukraine and finish the qualification tournament in Israel. A native of Freixo Ponte De Lima, Portugal, Brandao has competed for Portugal before on the U-16, U-18 and U-20 teams, but this will be the first time for the national team. "Making the Portugal National Team is an honor and a dream come true for me," Brandao said. "I look forward to working hard and representing Old Dominion University this summer."
