A four-year defensive standout for the Lady Monarchs, Katie Moyer begins her first season as assistant coach with the Lady Monarchs. During her career from 1999-2002, Moyer helped Old Dominion to an 84-17 overall mark, four undefeated CAA seasons, four CAA titles, two Final Four appearances, and a national championship in 2000. As a junior, the Lady Monarchs ranked ninth nationally in defense, while she anchored the defense to seven shutouts en route to a Final Four appearance as a senior in 2002. During her final year with the Lady Monarchs she fired off five goals, including both game-winners en route to Old Dominion's seventh straight CAA title, to go along with five assists. A National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) Academic Honor Roll honoree, CAA Scholar-Athlete, and Dean's List student, Moyer finished her undergraduate degree in biology in 2002. Moyer came to Old Dominion from Virginia Beach's Salem High School where she was a two-time team MVP, First Team All-Beach, and Second Team All-Tidewater selections.
