Third Ranked Field Hockey Beats Top Ranked Maryland, 1-0

COLLEGE PARK, MD. - Sophomore Angie Loy's(Loysville, Pa.) goal with 11:31 left in the first overtime lifted third ranked and defending National Champion Old Dominion to a 1-0 victory over top ranked Maryland Sunday afternoon. The Lady Monarchs have beaten the Terps twice this year. The Lady Monarchs are now 11-3 and have won three overtime matches this year. After a scoreless regulation, Junior Tiffany Snow (Escondido, CA.) passed to Loy off a penalty corner for the sudden death victory. Old Dominion's junior goalkeeper Marybeth Freeman pitched her fourth straight shutout and seventh of the year. She had three saves on the day.
