    Norfolk, Va. (Nov. 9, 2000) -- Eight-time national champion Old Dominion University prepares to fight for its unprecedented ninth crown this weekend with the first two rounds of NCAA Tournament action. The top-ranked Lady Monarchs will host a rounds one/two regional. They will take on Stanford Saturday at 11 am with Virginia vs. Connecticut to follow at 2 pm. The winners will advance to play Sunday at 2 pm.

    Old Dominion is the only school in field hockey history to qualify for each of the 20 NCAA Tournaments since its inception. The Lady Monarchs have won an unprecedented eight trophies, most recently winning in 1998.
