NORFOLK, VA -- Six Lady Monarchs were named STX/NFHCA All-Regional All-Americans it was announced today by the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association. Juniors Tara Herrmann (Perkasie, PA) and Tiffany Snow (Escondido, CA) along with senior Adrienne Yoder (Coopersburg, PA) were named First Team All-South, while teammates Marybeth Freeman (Holland, PA), Angie Loy (Loysville, PA), and Julie Miracle (Audubon, PA) were named Second Team All-South.

Herrmann, Snow, and Yoder were each near the top of the stat sheet for the Lady Monarchs and earned All-CAA First Team honors in 2001. Snow, a junior midfielder, finished the year with a team leading 41 points on 16 goals and nine assists. Herrmann added 16 goals to tie Snow for the team leader in tallies, while assisting on five goals for 37 points. The CAA Player of the Year, Co-Defender of the Year, and Tournament MVP, Yoder accumulated 36 with 12 points and 12 goals.

Miracle, a senior midfielder and one of the most consistent offensive players for the Lady Monarchs, netted 16 goals and recorded six assists for 34 points on the year. Loy, in her second year on the squad, added 10 goals and seven assists for 27 points. Freeman, a junior goalie, recorded 10 shutouts during the 2001 season in net for Old Dominion. Freeman closed the year with a 1.06 goals against average and a .756 save percentage in nearly 1600 minutes in goal.

The Lady Monarch field hockey team advanced to the second round of the 2001 NCAA Tournament and compiled a 18-5 record, which included a perfect 3-0 mark in Colonial Athletic Conference (CAA) play. Old Dominion won its sixth straight and 10th overall CAA title in 2001.
