Dec. 6, 2001

Old Dominion's Beth Anders, who became only the second coach in collegiate field hockey history to notch 400 career wins, was named the VaSID Coach of the Year in field hockey in a vote by members of the organization. Her captain this year, Adrienne Yoder (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh), was named the Commonwealth's Player of the Year. The Monarchs led all schools with five members of the team, while the Virginia Cavaliers had three honorees and the Dukes of James Madison had a pair on the team.
