KIAWAH ISLAND, SC- ODU sophomore Gemma Fuster (Barcelona, Spain) shot 75 in the final round to finish 54 holes at 226 and tie for 17th in the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate at Cougar Point. As a team, the Lady Monarchs tied for eighth with Jacksonville State with a 919 score in the 33-team event which is one of the largest collegiate tournaments in the country.

Sophomore Elizabeth Haycock (Birmingham, England) finished with a 228 to tie for 31st and Samantha Morrell (North Kingstown, RI.) shot 75 to move up and tie for 43rd wtih a 230 score for 54 holes.

Augusta State won the event with a final team score of 877, while UNCG's Fanny Cnops finished at 214 and won the individual medalist honors by one stroke over Christine Duschek-Hansen of Augusta State.

ODU competes in the JMU Eagle Landing, March 9-11.
