ORANGE PARK, FL-- ODU senior Samantha Morrell (North Kingstown, RI.) fired a first round 72 and is tied for sixth at the JMU eagle Landing Invitational. As a team, the Lady Monarchs are in third place with a 296, just three strokes behind co-leaders Campbell and Elon. Juniors Kimberley Bradbury (Derbyshire, England) and Elizabeth Haycock (Birmingham, England) are also in the top 20.

Morrell is three strokes behind co-leaders Ally Mcdonald of Mississippi State and F. gustafsson Spang of East Carolina.

Bradbury shot 73 to tie for 12th and Haycock a 74 to tie for 17th. Bradbury had six birdies, including four on the back nine. Round two is Saturday and the final round will be on Sunday.
