LAS VEGAS, NV-- Lady Monarch senior Samantha Morrell (North Kingstown, RI.) fired a final round 69 to win medalist honors in the second annual Bucknell Spring Break Tournament at the Paiute Snow Mountain Course. As a team, ODU finished second after shooting at 297 in the final round for a 36-hole score of 601.

Morrell's 144 total gave her a two-shot win over Nova Southeastern's Linnea Johansson. In her last four matches, including the last two of the Fall season, Morrell has now finished second (LPGA Xavier), fifth (Campbell) and fourth (JMU), and now a first place.

Lady Monarch junior Elizabeth Haycock (Birmingham,England) shot 77-74-151 to tie for seventh, followed by freshman Charlotte Hindmoor (Darlington, England) who tied for 15th at 78-76=154 and Kimberley Bradbury (DerbyShire, England) was 19th with a 77-78=155.

Nova Southeastern, from Fort Lauderdale, FL., placed all five players in the top 10 in the individual standings and won the team title over the runner-up Lady Monarchs. Nova compiled a 2-over-par 290 on Friday for a 36-hole total of 586, 15 shots better than ODU's 601.

Southern Utah finished third at 615, followed by Southern Illinois (616), Boise State (622), Northern Illinois (624), Youngstown State (624(, Radford (628), Bucknell (635), Creighton (641), Western Illinois (659), North Dakota (666) and Idaho State (681).
