Lady Monarchs Just Two Strokes Back At Campbell's Fall Classic

BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- Three Lady Monarchs, Elizabeth Haycock (Birmingham, England), Samantha Morrell (North Kingstown, RI.) and Kimberley Bradbury (Derbyshire, England) are in the top five of the Fighting Camel Fall Classic as ODU is in second place after two rounds Monday at the Keith Hills Country Club. Campbell's Kaylin Yost, the 2012 Big South Player of the Year tops the individual leader board and Campbell owns a 2-stroke lead over the Lady Monarchs in the team standings. Yost produced a tournament 36-hole record of 142 (73-69) after her six-birdie second round Monday afternoon on the par-72, 6026-yard Keith Hills layout. Her score topped a 143 (73-70) turned in by Mary Mattson in the 2010 event. ODU's Haycock and Morrell both finished the 36 holes at 147, shooting 72 in the first round and 75 in the second. Bradbruy shot 76 in the first round and 72 in the second for 148, just six strokes back of Yost. Yost owns a two-stroke lead over Longwood's Amanda Steinhagen (74-71--145) in the 65-player field. Yost and ODU's Gemma Fuster (Barcelona, Spain) each made 8 birdies over the first 36 holes to top the field. Fuster is 11th with a 36 hole score of 152. The third and final round is Tuesday.
