IRVING, Texas - Old Dominion senior Samantha Morrell claimed medalist honors at the Bucknell Spring Break Tournament and has been named Conference USA Women's Golfer of the Week. SMU freshman Bryson Dechambeau is the Men's Golfer of the Week after a third-place showing at the Don Puckette NIT.

C-USA Women's Golfer of the Week: Samantha Morrell, Old Dominion, Sr., North Kingstown, R.I. Morrell fired a final round 69 to win medalist honors (75-69=144) in the second annual Bucknell Spring Break Tournament at the Paiute Snow Mountain Course. As a team, ODU finished second after shooting at 297 in the final round for a 36-hole score of 601.

Morrell's 144 total gave her a two-shot win over Nova Southeastern's Linnea Johansson. In her last four matches, including the final two of the fall season, Morrell has now finished second (LPGA Xavier), fifth (Campbell) and fourth (JMU), and now a first place. This is Morrell's first C-USA Golfer of the Week award, as well as ODU's first in golf.

ODU Men's tennis player Carlos Lopez Villa became the first Monarch to win a C-USA weekly honor back on Jan. 22.
