RICHMOND, Va. (November 5, 2009) - Old Dominion's Samantha Morrell (North Kingstown, RI.) was named CAA Women's Golfer of the Week after a strong finish at the Pinehurst Fall Challenge.

The freshman opened the tournament with a 76 before finishing with a score of 70 in the second and final round to earn a third place finish. Morrell completed the tournament two strokes behind the champion. She was fourth in par 4 scoring with 4.10 and tied for 4th in total pars with 24 in the tournament.

Morrell was named CAA Golfer of the Week back on Sept. 30th of this season. The rookie completes the fall season with a 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 13th and 31st place finishes. Her fall stroke average is 74.5.
