Women's Lacrosse Notebook: Carolyn Burns Named Mane Monarch

Burns started all 15 games and scooped up 15 groundballs for ODU last season

2012: Started six games and played in all 17 on defense... Scored a goal in the victory over Saint Joseph's (3/17)... Scooped up nine groundballs and caused two turnovers... Also earned two draw controls.

2011: Started all 15 games as a defender... Notched first career goal versus American... Had 12 groundballs and 12 draw controls... Caused seven turnovers.

2010: Played in all 15 games, starting 13... Recorded seven groundballs, won four draws and caused eight turnovers.

2009: Appeared in two games for the Lady Monarchs.

Prior to Old Dominion: Three-sport athlete at Marriotts Ridge High School... Played four years of high school lacrosse... Earned Coaches Award on defense... MVP of the women's basketball team for two years, averaging 15 points per game... Also played middle hitter for the volleyball team.
