TOWSON, MD - Junior Suzanne Wosczyna (Phoenixville, PA) scored four goals and had two assists to lead Old Dominion University (11-3, 7-0) to a 14-8 Colonial Athletic Association win over Towson University (7-6, 1-5) on Friday afternoon at the Towson Stadium. The win came was the first time since 1993 that Old Dominion has been undefeated in conference competition.

During the first half, both teams exchanged two goals apiece before sophomore Martha Dwyer (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) connected with junior Caitlin Marshall (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) for a goal at 19:01, and gave Towson a 3-2 lead over the Lady Monarchs. However, the Tigers were unable to hold on to the lead as Old Dominion went on a seven-goal run, which gave the Lady Monarchs a commanding 9-3 lead at the break.

Freshman Becky Trumbo (Elderesburg, Md./Liberty) netted the first two goals of the day for Towson to set a school record of scoring the most points ever as a freshman (43 points).

Danielle Hensil (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) opened the scoring for ODU in the second half, which ignited a 5-1 run for the Lady Monarchs, and gave them a 14-4 advantage over the Tigers with 7:31 remaining in regulation. During the 10-goal run by Old Dominion, Stephanie Howell (Woodbine, Md./Glenegl) was the only player to post a Towson goal. With 2:30 left to play in the game, Marshall then netted two back-to-back goals to lead the Tigers on a late 4-0 rally, making it a 14-8 final score.

Junior Jessica O'Connell (St. James, N.Y./Smithtown) made 10 saves while in goal for Towson, while Michelle Gannon (Delmar, Md./Wicomico) stopped eight shots on the day.

Following today's win, the Lady Monarchs will look to the CAA Championships that will be held in Norfolk at Foreman Field. Old Dominion locked up the first seed by defeating Delaware, 12-11, last weekend.
