NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion University women's lacrosse team begins a stretch on Wednesday where five of their next games will be at home as they host Longwood at 4 p.m. at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.

Old Dominion (3-4) has strung together back-to-back wins against American and Saint Joseph's. The Lady Monarchs are looking to win three in a row for the first time since the 2011 season. ODU raced out to a 4-0 lead on Sunday in Philly and then built a 9-2 lead early in the second half and held on to prevail, 9-7 over SJU.

Longwood (5-2) is coming off a 15-10 setback at home to New Hampshire on Saturday. The Lancers have victories over Howard, George Mason, Campbell, Central Connecticut and Winthrop this season. Their other loss came to No. 19 Stony Brook.

The Lady Monarchs are led offensively by junior attacker Emily Austerberry who has 14 goals and four assists in just five games this season. Sophomore midfielders Christina Rea and Ashmore Standing each have 13 goals apiece while senior attacker Meredith Rogers adds eight goals and a team-high six assists. Senior defenders Carolyn and Alexandra Burns led the team with 16 groundballs each while junior defender Kallie McCormick has caused 12 turnovers on the season. Sophomore goalkeeper Karen Hayde has allowed 105 goals while posting 59 saves.

For the Lancers, junior midfielder Laure Prasnicki powers the offense with 10 goals and 19 assists while senior midielder Jamie Brentlinger adds a team-best 18 goals to go with eight assists. Defensively, junior Kathleen Battle has scooped up 16 groundballs and caused 11 turnovers. In goal for LU, sophomore Christian Acker has seen the bulk of the action recording 51 saves while allowing 68 goals.

ODU is 3-1 all-time against Longwood. The Lady Monarchs crushed the Lancers in Farmville last season, 21-6, but LU defeated ODU in their last meeting in Norfolk back in 2011, 15-11.
