NORFOLK, VA -- Freshman goalkeeper Michelle Gannon (Delmar, MD) was named the CAA Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week it was announced by the league office on Monday evening. Her award marks her second Rookie of the Week honor.

Gannon recorded a 9.00 GAA and .471 save percentage with 24 saves in helping ODU clinch the #1 seed in the upcoming CAA Championship with wins over Drexel and Delaware. She held the Dragons to just seven goals, their lowest total in the CAA and second-lowest of the season. Against Delaware she saved 14 shots, including a critical save in the final minute to preserve the victory in the battle of the CAA's two unbeaten teams.

Old Dominion (10-3 overall, 6-0 CAA) clinched the #1 seed in the upcoming CAA Women's Lacrosse Championship. As the top seed, the Lady Monarchs will host the tournament in Norfolk. James Madison has also clinched a berth in the four-team field. The final two spots are up for grabs between Delaware, Hofstra, and George Mason.

The Lady Monarchs will return to action on Friday at Towson in their regular season finale.
