Box Score

NORFOLK, Va. - James Madison scored three goals in a six-minute span in the first half and never looked back on their way to a 5-0 win over Old Dominion women's soccer Thursday evening at the ODU Soccer Stadium.

The game was scoreless until the 36th minute when Katie Menzie sent a through pass to Katie Hyland who made a move past the ODU keeper and sent a shot into the goal to give the Dukes a 1-0 lead.

Just 20 seconds later JMU added to the lead on a goal from Lauren Wilson off an assist from Hyland.

James Madison built the lead to 3-0 five minutes later as Elissa Halik corralled a ball in the box and knocked it just inside the left post.

The Dukes netted two tallies in the second half, both off the foot of Kelly Germain to make the final score 5-0.

ODU's best chance came in the 74th minute when Kelly Farrell knocked a shot from 25 yards out off the cross bar and was kicked out by the JMU defense.

Brianna Alvarado played the first half in goal for ODU and made three saves while Laura Bush played the second half and made two saves. Kate Courter made two saves for the Dukes.

ODU finishes off its five game home stand on Sunday when they host VCU at 1 p.m.
