NORFOLK, VA--Sophomore midfielder Elizabeth Brewster's (Clifton, VA.) goal with 18 minutes left in the match lifted the Lady Monarchs of Old Dominion (11-1/3-1) to a 1-0 victory over defending CAA Champion Hofstra (6-5-1 /2-2) Sunday afternoon. It was the Lady Monarchs first ever win over the Pride.

After over 70 minutes of scoreless play, Brewster gathered the ball in a scramble off a rebound and kicked it in for her first goal of the season and second of her career. ODU outshot Hofstra, 16-13 as sophomore goalkeeper Colby Owen (Virginia Beach,VA) had two second half saves, while Hofstra's Krysten Farriella had three saves.

The Lady return to action next weekend when they host Virginia Commonwealth On Friday night at 7 p.m., then host James Madison on Sunday at 1 p.m.
