Norfolk, VA - The Old Dominion women's soccer lost to West Virginia on Sept. 8 in a non-conference match up, 1-0. WVU junior Katie Barnes scored a goal in the game's 66th minute to secure the win for the visiting Mountaineers. With the loss, Old Dominion drops to 2-3 overall. West Virginia improves to 4-1.

The Lady Monarchs were outshot 9-8 on the game, but held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks. Junior goalkeeper Tonya Dedmond (North Potomac, MD) had six saves in the loss.

Old Dominion will return to action on Sept. 15 when they take on UNC-Greensboro in the first game of the William & Mary Tournament. The Lady Monarchs will also take on Seton Hall on Sept. 17 in their second game of the Tournament.
