RADFORD, VA (Sept. 24, 2000) -- The Old Dominion Lady Monarchs defeated Radford University this afternoon, 1-0. The Lady Monarchs improve to 6-4 (0-1,CAA) with the win while Radford falls to 2-7 on the year.

Senior Lauren Rafal (Va. Beach, VA) provided the only goal of the game when she headed in a cross from teammate Emily Becker (Va. Beach, VA). Junior goalkeeper Allison Kinsler (Va. Beach, VA) would make the score stand, stopping seven Radford shots in the victory.

Old Dominion outshot Radford 15-11 and held a 5-3 advantage in corners against the Highlanders, who are currently enduring a 541 minute scoreless drought.

The Lady Monarchs will return to action on Wednesday, September 27, when they host CAA-foe East Carolina at 6 p.m.
