NORFOLK, Va. -- For just the third time in program history, the ODU women's soccer team (10-2/3-1) is receiving votes in the Soccer Buzz Magazine National Rankings. ODU also ranks 6th in the Mid-Atlantic Region according to Soccer Buzz and 10th in the region according to the NSCAA/adidas coaches poll. In the first NCAA Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) release of the season, ODU is listed as having the 27th best RPI out of 318 teams.

The RPI is a tool used by the NCAA to determine which teams will receive at-large bids into the NCAA tournament following the regular season. ODU ranks higher than any other Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) school in the RPI ratings.

This weekend, Old Dominion added two wins in conference action to improve to 10-2 overall and 3-1 in the CAA. With the wins, the team won its 10th game of the season, giving ODU double-digit wins in three of the last four seasons.

It was enough to nearly vault ODU into the Top 30 teams in the country, according to Soccer Buzz Magazine. ODU is receiving votes in the poll for the first time since 2005 and for just the third time in school history. The magazine also lists ODU as the sixth best team in the Mid-Atlantic Region. All five teams listed ahead of the Lady Monarchs are in the National Rankings.

In the NSCAA/adidas poll, ODU is currently ranked tied for tenth in the Middle Atlantic Region. Earlier this season, Soccer America Magazine listed ODU as the 25th best team in the nation, its first ever national ranking.

Old Dominion hosts two critical league games this weekend as they entertain Hofstra (7-4-1/4-0) on Friday night at 7:00 pm and Northeastern (7-4-1/3-1) on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
