No. 53 Lady Monarchs Defeat East Carolina in Women's Tennis Action

NORFOLK, Va. -- The 53rd ranked Lady Monarchs won the doubles point and added four singles wins to drop the East Carolina Lady Pirates, 5-2. ODU improved to 5-2 this season, led again by junior Nadine Fahoum (Haifa, Israel). Fahoum, ranked 21st in the nation, bested her opponent at No. 1 singles without giving up a game. She dropped ECU's Audrey LePottier in a 6-0, 6-0 final. She also paired with junior Joanna Dobrowolska to blank LePottier and teammate Jessica Cook in No. 1 doubles, 8-0. ODU also got the win at No. 3 doubles from Irina Dementyeva and Diana Ivanova, 8-2 over Natalie Collins and Tamara Sachs. The win sealed the doubles point for the Lady Monarchs. In singles play, the Lady Pirates would win a pair of long matches at No. 2 and No. 3. Cook defeated Dobrowolska, 3-6, 6-2, 6-0 and Collins beat Dementyeva, 3-6, 6-4, 13-11. ODU would take the win, though, behind wins at No. 4, 5 and 6 singles. Ivanova won at No. 4 in a 6-3, 6-2 final over Petra Vogel.
