Lady Monarchs Drop Tough Match to UNC Greensboro, 4-3

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. - Old Dominion University women's tennis dropped a tough 4-3 match to UNC Greensboro Saturday afternoon at Marshall. ODU drops to 7-4 on the year while the Spartans improved to 4-3. UNCG won the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Niltooli Wilkins and Alex Whitehead won a tight 8-6 decision at No. 1 over Diana Ivanova and Nikol Hristova. Juliana Pires and Melissa Esnal Olguin were 8-4 winners at No. 2. Stephanie Falcon and Dilara Yurtkuran clinched the doubles point with an 8-4 win at No. 3. Wilkins started singles for UNCG with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Ivanova, 6-3, 7-5. Hristova got ODU its first win of the day with a 6-1, 6-3 triumph over Dilara Yurtkuran at No. 2. Ivana Vukovic earned ODU its second win with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Alex Whitehead at No. 3. Annette Rios and Stephanie Falcon earned wins at No. 4 and No. 5 to clinch the team win for UNCG. Nika Khmolovska was an 8-4 winner at No. 6 for the Lady Monarchs. ODU is back in action tomorrow at 10 a.m. against Marshall. UNCG 4 ODU 3
