Women's Tennis Falls To #20 William & Mary

NEWPORT NEWS, VA. -- The Old Dominion women's tennis team fell to #20 William & Mary, 6-1, on Wednesday afternoon at Huntington Park. The loss drops the Lady Monarchs to 16-7 overall and 4-2 in the CAA, while the Tribe upped their mark to 13-6 overall and 2-0 in conference play. William and Mary's women's tennis team, ranked 20th in the nation, defeated Colonial Athletic Association rival Old Dominion, 6-1, this afternoon at the Huntington Park Tennis Center. The Lady Monarchs' lone point of the contest came from Fernanda Luiz (Nova Lima, Brazil) at No. 4 singles. Luiz defeated Emmy Fritz-Krockow only allowing the Tribe member to record a single game, 6-0, 6-1. Although William & Mary picked up the doubles point, ODU's No. 2 doubles team of Charleen Haarhoff (Durban, South Africa) and Luiz edged out Lauren Cash and Megan Muth for the 8-3 victory. The Lady Monarchs return to action at Richmond on Saturday, April 8th.
