Lady Monarchs Down James Madison, 4-0, In CAA Tourney Quarterfinals

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - On its first day of competition at the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament, the Old Dominion women's tennis team used a 4-0 quarterfinal victory over James Madison to advance to Saturday's semifinals. The Lady Monarchs won four singles matches to advance. Old Dominion's top singles player, Kerstin Endlich, blanked Kristin Nordstrom, 6-0, 6-0, at the top spot. All-CAA member Charleen Haarhoff also blanked her Duke opponent, posting a 6-0, 6-0 win over Mary Napier. Also taking home victories for the Lady Monarchs were Barbara Costa and Linda Garder. Costa played her way to a 6-2, 6-0 win over Anna Khoor at No. 3 singles and Garder earned a 6-1, 6-2 decision at No. 6 singles over JMU's Annie Day. The Lady Monarchs return to action on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. taking on second-seeded William & Mary at Huntington Park.
