Williamsburg, Va. -- After earning her first win over a ranked opponent, sophomore Charleen Haarhoff's (Durban, South Africa) run at the William & Mary Invitational came to an end on Saturday with a quarterfinal loss to #75 Randi Schuler of Purdue.

Haarhoff fell to Schuler in the Flight A singles bracket in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. Playing in the consolation draw, Haarhoff then fell to #92 Mallory Voelker, also of Purdue, 6-3. 6-3.

In other singles action, junior Fernanda Luiz (Nova Lima, Brazil) fell in both her consolation appearances in the Flight B bracket. In the consolation quarterfinals, Luiz dropped a 6-1, 6-2, decision to #105 Lynzee Kever of Marshall. She then fell to Barbara Zidek of host William & Mary in the back draw in three sets, 6-0, 5-7, 10-8.

In doubles action, Haarhoff and Luiz teamed up for a victory in the Flight A doubles consolation bracket. The Lady Monarch duo defeated Richmond's Beatrice Grasu and Robin Carter, 8-6, in the quarterfinals.
