Cahana Defeated At ITA Indoor Quarterfinals

FRENCH BRANCH, TEXAS - Old Dominion University sophomore All-American and second seed Nataly Cahana (Quiriat Bialik, Isreal) lost here quarterfinal match to sixth seed Lauren Kalvaria of Stanford, 6-4,6-1 at the Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships at Brookhaven Country Club. Cahana advanced to the quarters with an opening round win over Helen Lawson of Boise State, 6-3,7-5, then a second round win over Agata Gioroch of Georgia, 6-3,2-6, 6-4. The Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships feature a 32-player singles field and 16-team doubles field for men and women. It is the second leg of the ITA Triple Crown for collegiate tennis. The first was the ITA All-American tournament in which Cahana reached the finals (Oct. 14) , the last is the NCAA National Championships in the Spring.
