NORFOLK, VA (May 17, 2004) -- Four Time CAA-Women's Tennis Player of the Year Nataly Cahana (Qiriat Bialik, Israel) was named the East Region Senior Player of the Year it was announced by Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

Cahana is among 64 singles players that qualified to the NCAA women's tennis singles championship, marking an appearance in the tournament by the Lady Monarch all four years of her career. The senior Lady Monarch is ranked 30th nationally with a 29-7 overall singles mark. She also captured the East Coast Collegiate Invitational and the ITA Eastern Region Championship for the second time in her career.

Other career highlights include All-American Finalist (2002, 2001), ITA East Region Doubles Champion (2002), ITA National Player to Watch (2001), and team captain (2003, 2004). During her four-year career at Old Dominion, Cahana has compiled a 143-26 singles mark and a 87-35 doubles record.

Regional winners are candidates for the national award. National award winner are announced on May 23 (women) and May 26 (men).
