NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion's Charleen Haarhoff (Durban, South Africa) and sophomore Fernanda Luiz (Nova Lima, Brazil) were named Second Team All-State it was announced by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Association.

Newcomer Charleen Haarhoff took home Second Team All-CAA honors in both singles and doubles. In singles, the first year Lady Monarch went 22-5 overall and ranked 22nd regionally, while teaming with Fernanda Luiz for a 19-5 mark and a number 14 spot in the regional rankings. At No. 2 doubles, the Lady Monarch doubles team went a perfect 10-0. Luiz also earned post-season honors in singles placing on the All-CAA Third Team. In singles, she went 20-8, including a 4-1 mark against CAA rivals.

The Old Dominion women's tennis team finished the 2005-06 season with a 19-10 overall mark and took on seven teams ranked in the ITA Poll. Regionally, the Lady Monarchs finished 13th. The Lady Monarchs went 5-3 against CAA competition and advanced to the conference tournament semifinals.
