NORFOLK, Va. - Sophomore Charleen Haarhoff (Durban, South Africa) and junior Fernanda Luiz (Nova Lima, Brazil) were both featured in the Mideast Regional Rankings released on December 8th. Haarhoff was No. 23 in singles and joined junior Fernanda Luiz at No. 7 in the doubles poll.

Haarhoff earned a 7-6 fall singles record, which included a 1-2 mark against opponents ranked in the Preseason ITA Poll. She picked up her first ever victory over a ranked opponent, No. 37 Inga Beermann of Virginia Tech, at the William & Mary Invitational, where she advanced to the quarterfinals. She made an appearance to the Round of 32 at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championship and reached the Round of 16 at the Wilson/ITA East Regional Championships held at Dartmouth..

In doubles, the team of Luiz and Haarhoff, advanced to the Round of 16 at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships and also captured the Hampton Roads Collegiate Invitational of Newport News double title.

The Old Dominion women's tennis team returns to action on January 20th at the William & Mary Tournament in Williamsburg, Va.
