WILLIAMSBURG, VA -- The Lady Monarch cross-country team accumulated 327 points en route to a 12th place finish at the William and Mary Invitational held in Williamsburg, VA this afternoon.

Virginia took home the crown with 30 points, with fellow CAA member James Madison taking second and Richmond placing third with 65 and 99 points respectively.

Rookies Jenny Cook (Mascoutah, IL) and Jen Myers (Wyckoff, NJ) led the Lady Monarchs, crossing the finish line of the 6k course in times of 20:51.9 and 21:02.9 to finish in 95th and 97th place respectively. Jennifer Owens, from overall team winner Virginia was the winner after finishing the race in a time of 17:17.7.

Other place finishers for Old Dominion included sophomore Nicole Williams (Manassas, VA) in 113th (22:00.4), junior Teresa Brown (Colorado Springs, CO) in 116th (22:18.9) and senior captain Hollie Robinson (Va. Beach, VA) in 120th (22:42.0).

The Lady Monarch cross-country team will return to Williamsburg, VA next weekend to compete in the Colonial Invitational. Race time is slated for 10:45 a.m.
