Lady Monarch Runners Place Fourth at Delaware

NEWARK, DE -- Freshman Jen Myers (Wyckoff, NJ) placed 16th to lead the Lady Monarch cross country team squad at the Delaware Invitational. Myers crossed the finish line in the 6k run in a time of 25:08.89 as Old Dominion placed fourth with 100 points on the afternoon. Host institution Delaware captured the title crown placing first with 20 points, while fellow CAA schools Virginia Commonwealth and Hofstra placed second and third repectively. The individual title was won by Aimee Alexander of Delaware finishing the race in a time of 23:03.69. Other top finishers for the Lady Monarchs included rookie Jenny Cook (Mascoutah, IL) in 24th (26:06.50), Teresa Brown (Colorado Springs, CO) in 29th (26:50.30), Davitta Williams (Long Beach, CA) in 35th (27:44.22), and senior captain Hollie Robinson (Va. Beach, Virginia) in 39th (29:50.25). The Lady Monarchs will begin preparing for the Colonial Athletic Association Championships to be held on October 27th in Williamsburg, VA.
