Lady Monarch Cross Country Places Ninth

WILLIAMSBURG, VA -- The Old Dominion cross-country team ran to a ninth place finish at the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championships in Williamsburg, VA. James Madison captured the title taking the title away from last year's champion and host school, William and Mary.
The Lady Monarchs accumulated 247 points and averaged 24:51.3 over the 6k course. The Dukes took home the title with 22 points, while William and Mary placed second with 38 points. JMU's Mollie DeFrancesco was the overall winner finishing the course in 20:57.8.
Freshman Jen Myers (Wyckoff, NJ) was the top Lady Monarch runner at the finish line. The rookie placed 55th overall in a time of 24:36.6. Junior Teresa Brown (Colorado Springs, CO) followed right behind Myers in 56th with her time of 24:39.0.
A trio of Old Dominion runners followed with sophomore Nicole Williams (Manassas, VA) in 64th (24:57.6), freshman Jenny Cook (Mascoutah, IL) in 25:01.1 in 65th, and senior captain Hollie Robinson (Va. Beach, VA) in 66th (25:02.5). Junior Davitta Williams (Long Beach, CA) crossed the line in 77th (26:46.1) and sophomore Terrah Galloway (Hampton, VA) finished in 79th (29:27.2).
